iPhone App: Ducati Collection – Just Don’t Do It!
![]()
Whilst stumbling around the iPhone App Store the other day I decided to search for “Ducati”. To my surprise the Ducati Collection app came up. It didn’t look too promising what with its compelling and engaging intro “Are you interested in the type of motorcycle Ducati? You will feel as if you had a collection of the motorcycles Ducati by this application”. Nevertheless I was prepared to invest the sum of $2.99 to see for myself, all in the interests of serving you dear reader!
I checked out the reviews. There was just one with a 1-star rating. Not encouraging!! The major complaint seemed to be a lack of proof reading which didn’t surprise me given the intro text. It looks as if it has been translated (poorly) into English. Perhaps all this bad vibe was a portent because despite being determined to check for myself, I got an “Application Not Compatible” error when I tried to download it onto my iPod touch.
Undeterred I downloaded it from iTunes itself on my Mac but ran into the same problem when trying to sync to my iPod Touch. Supposedly it only works on the second generation device but I can’t understand any credible reason why this should be so. So no hands on review I’m afraid, but it wasn’t for want of trying.
In conclusion it seems like a good idea poorly executed but until the text is proof read and corrected (and until/if I buy a new iPhone 3GS) you will have to wait for the full review. You could click on the link to go to the Ducati Collection on the iTunes store but I wouldn’t recommend it.
