Mladin Gives Competitors a Riding Lesson at Road Atlanta
As was expected, Suzuki pilot, Mat Mladin, maintained his perfect record at Round 3 of the AMA Pro tour at Road Atlanta, winning both races, the first by an embarrassing (for his competitors) 15.7 seconds indicating he feels no need to slow down since his only credible competitor, Ben Spies, has departed for the world stage.
In a series of photo’s captured by motorsport photographer, Daniel Lo, the extent of Mladin’s advantage over the field is obvious over just the first 5 laps. Despite not getting the holeshot, he quickly took the lead and extended it at around 1 second per lap.

Ducati fans were disappointed as Team Foremost Pegram Racing’s, Larry Pegram was hampered by his Fontana injuries meaning he could only secure 7th and 10th places in the 2 races despite battling up the front for podium positions at times.
“I wasn’t feeling well at all this weekend, with pain in my ankle and hip,” commented Pegram. “Despite a hard time in race one I felt good going into race two. Early in the race I got a huge cramp around turn 9, and lost a few positions straight away. The cramp persisted, so from then on I was racing for points not the win. All things considered it was an ok finish, but not where I wanted to be today.”
