Although it is oxymoronic to talk about motorcycles as investments, Motorcycle News is reporting that a Ducati was the best motorcycle investment in the UK last year according to price experts. However Ducatisti can’t be too pleased with themselves because another Ducati model was the worst performer in terms of depreciation over 12 months.

Ducati North America supported Larry Pegram put a first lap highside in Race 1 behind him to take 3rd place in Race 2 at the second round of of the American Superbike class at Auto Club Speedway on his Ducati 1098R. Suzuki’s Mat Mladin continued his early domination of the series with two wins.

The Coastal Ducati Club in conjunction with Daytona Ducati and BCM Motorsports hosted the Ducati Dyno Shootout during bikeweek in Daytona, Florida. There were 33 entries but I wanted to draw a couple of highlights to your attention.

Speculation about Ducati’s intentions to launch a motorcycle in the popular adventure tourer class next year has been rife after various spy photos have been circulated around the web. The stories have been given considerable credibility now that the official Australian Ducati importer, Warren Lee, has spilled the beans to a local newspaper.

Ducati is now opening enrollment for the European Ducati Riding Experience (DRE). This track based event allows riders to experiment with the full performance envelope of a modern Ducati in a controlled environment. The instruction takes place at such evocative circuits as Monza, Misano and Mugello.
