Daytona Ducati Dyno Shootout Highlights

The Coastal Ducati Club in conjunction with Daytona Ducati and BCM Motorsports hosted the Ducati Dyno Shootout during bikeweek in Daytona, Florida. There were 33 entries but I wanted to draw a couple of highlights to your attention.

The first is a Troy Bayliss inspired Ducati HyperMotard that recorded a stunning 130bhp at the rear wheel. This must be a seriously built Desmodue that would be an awesome sleeper on a twisty road!!

Philadelphia Eagles player, Reggie Brown, turned up on his $73,000 Ducati Desmoseideici and proceeded to make a public spectacle of himself when it became fairly clear he had little idea of how to ride a bike and produced a dismal 165bhp for his efforts.

The most powerful bike wasn’t the Ducati Desmoseideici, that honor went to a 203bhp Ducati 1098R. Now that’s some horsepower! Apparently the fragrant smell of race gas was in the air. Ducati’s Davide Tardozzi has said before that he is aware of 1098R’s in Italy that, because they are not encumbered with meeting the World Superbike regulations, make more power than the factory 1098R racers that Noriyuki Haga and Michel Fabrizio ride.
