Ducati North America has announced that it will return to Superbike racing this year with the popular privateer Larry Pegram. Pegram will race a Ducati 1098R in the American Superbike class with sponsorship from Ducati North America and title sponsor Foremost Insurance.

In a blow for Ducati fans, stories are beginning to circulate that 2007 MotoGP World Champion, Australian Casey Stoner may be forced to withdraw form competition for the 2009 season. Stoner has been suffering continual pain in his wrist following an operation last November to repair an old scaphoid injury.
